Kenny Whidden, 43, a journeyman iron worker with Copeland Steel in Zephyrhills, welds a steel beam on the scoreboard structure at the north end zone at Tampa Community Stadium on N Dale Mabry Monday. Tampa Sports Authority says that the scoreboard stands 100 feet above the stadium floor and is about 45 feet tall and 110 feet wide. It will house four ad panels, two matrix display boards, a game clock and video screen. An identical scoreboard is being installed at the south end of the stadium. Because of neighbors' concerns, the sound system will be in the south end zone and sound will be directed north, opposite of Houlihan Stadium's sound system.
