The new Sam M. Gibbons U.S. Courthouse will be closed today, as workers continue repairing damage caused by a water leak last week, the U.S. Marshal's Service announced Monday.
At a meeting scheduled for today, officials might learn when the new courthouse can be reopened, according to Larry Cooper, chief deputy U.S. Marshal. Damaged electrical conduits are now being repaired and re-evaluated.
Bankruptcy judges had already occupied the new building. Anyone who needs to file documents in bankruptcy court today should file them at the federal courthouse at 611 N Florida Ave., Cooper said.
