Clinton to talk to media today

President Clinton will hold a news conference at 2 p.m today, his first of the year.

The president plans to make a statement about a pending Senate vote on NATO enlargement, then take questions from reporters in the White House East Room, spokesman Mike McCurry said Wednesday.

Clinton held news conferences with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in February and in South Africa with President Nelson Mandela in March.
