Authorities arrested a 51-year-old Homosassa woman Tuesday on charges that she set fire to a house April 23. Karen Chrysler Vandergriff, 7229 W Lacey Lane, was booked into the Citrus County Detention Facility, where she is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail. According to a Citrus County Sheriff's report, Vandergriff was seen in the back yard at 3579 W Enright Terr., Homosassa, just before the house caught fire. Vandergriff was acting as caretaker for several properties of the owner of the home she is accused of setting fire to, the report said. Investigators questioned Vandergriff and she denied any knowledge. However, Vandergriff told witnesses that she liked to set fires and had done so in the past, the report said. She also knew that the fire had started beneath the structure, the report said.
