BOY SCOUTS RELIVE HISTORY: Local Boy Scout Troop No. 457 recently camped aboard the World War II Aircraft Carrier YORKTOWN in Charleston Harbor. The troop became "shipmates" with other troops as they toured YORKTOWN, the World War II submarine CLAMAGORE, World War II Destroyer LAFFEY, and World War II Cutter INGHAM. The boys ate morning and evening meals in the chief's mess. They also took a boat ride to Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, where the Civil War began. Troop 457 is sponsored by First Baptist Church of Inverness under Scout Master Charles Stahl.
