Lorraine and Norman Edie, Dunedin, celebrated their 50th anniversary at a party given by their children. The couple renewed their vows at a Mass for Marriage Renewal given by Bishop Thomas Larkin at St. Jude Cathedral in St. Petersburg. They were married April 3, 1948, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Eden, N.Y. They came here in 1979 from Hamburg, N.Y.
The Edies owned a restaurant in Buffalo, N.Y., before their retirement. Lorraine Edie recently retired from A.C. Nielsen Media Research, Dunedin. Norman Edie is a Navy veteran of World War II. They have four children.
Leslie and Marion Bellenger, Palm Harbor, celebrated their 55th anniversary April 25. They were married on Easter in 1943 in Brockton, Mass. They moved to Clearwater in 1975.
Leslie Bellenger worked 36 years for IBM in the Boston area. Marion Bellenger taught school in western Massachusetts. They live at St. Marks Assisted Living, Palm Harbor. They have two children and five grandchildren.
Ernie and Phyllis Smith, Palm Harbor, celebrated their 50th anniversary with a dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House, Tampa. Their son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Pat Smith, honored the couple with a garden party April 4. They are planning a trip to Nashville, Tenn., this summer.
The couple was married Jan. 10, 1948, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam, Wis. They came here in 1980.
The Smiths owned and operated the Boy Blue Ice Cream Store. Ernie Smith worked for I.D. Smith Contractor, Palm Harbor. Phyllis Smith worked 10 years for Florida Power Corp. They have three children, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Frank and Fran Darling, Seminole, celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends at the Faith Center at Faith Presbyterian Church, Seminole. They came here in 1973 from Cincinnati, where they were married Jan. 31, 1948.
Frank Darling retired from Oakley Savings and Loan in Cincinnati and volunteers for Pinellas County School District. Fran Darling works in the Christian Education Department at Faith Presbyterian Church. They have two children and five grandchildren.
