Israel will strike two gold coins as part of its observance of the nation's 50th anniversary. The proof coins, struck in .999 fine gold, will bear 10- and 20-shekel denominations.
Two silver commemoratives will also be struck as part of the anniversary observance. Designed by Asher Kalderon, the coin bears the nation's flag and a burst of stars. The gold coins will sell for $799 for the 1-ounce coin and $428 for the half-ounce piece. The 2-shekel silver proof will cost $42; the uncirculated 1 shekel, $25.
