MARLINS 6, PADRES 5 (11): Florida scored five runs off Kevin Brown, who was facing his former team for the first time, and Edgar Renteria's single in the bottom of the 11th lifted the Marlins.

Charles Johnson led off the 11th with a walk against Dan Miceli, and pinch-runner Gregg Zaun advanced on a sacrifice. With two outs, Renteria singled to right to score Zaun.

San Diego left the bases loaded in the 10th and the 11th against Jay Powell. The Padres' Wally Joyner and Greg Vaughn hit consecutive homers leading off the ninth to tie the score against Antonio Alfonseca.

The start of the game was delayed 2 hours, 28 minutes by rain.
