"Opal' takes stage at Francis Wilson Playhouse

The comedy Everybody Loves Opal opens today at the Francis Wilson Playhouse, 302 Seminole St. The play runs through May 10. It's about a friendly middle-age woman who lives in a tumbledown mansion beside the city dump. Her unfailing kindness and abiding faith in human nature triumph over the combined greed of three small-time criminals who try to do her in for her insurance. Performances are at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Weekend matinees are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and children. Call 446-1360.
