CLASS of the COUNTY

CAROLINE TIEN, King tennis: She won the Class 6A No. 4 singles state championship last week. In the final match, she defeated Christina Leavenworth of Niceville 7-5, 6-3.

ANDREW LAFLIN, Jesuit tennis: He won the Class 4A No. 1 singles state championship. His final match was long and tough, but he won in straight sets 7-5, 7-5 over Royal Palm Beach High's Kent Ball.

PAUL BROWN, Leto track: He won three individual events in the Class 6A, District 5 meet last week and qualified for state in a fourth. Brown was first in the 120 hurdles (13.99 seconds), 330 hurdles (39.69) and the long jump (21-{ feet) and placed third in the high jump.

RENITA DIXON, Brandon track: She won three individual events in the Class 6A, District 6 meet last week and was part of a winning relay team. Dixon took the 100 meters (12.17), 200 meters (26.24), long jump (16-3\ feet) and anchored the winning 4x100 team.

_ Class of the County honorees are chosen by the Times. Nominations can be made by coaches only to Joey Johnston (226-3353) or Terry Jones (684-2457) no later than 9 a.m. on Mondays.
