The Coast Guard continued to search unsuccessfully Friday for a fisherman whose boat was found the previous day about 20 miles southwest of Clearwater.
The man, whose name wasn't released, left the Belleair Beach area alone Thursday afternoon.
His 23-foot Mako outboard fishing boat, named Greenback, was found three hours later.
It was towed to the Coast Guard base on Sand Key.
The Coast Guard used a 41-foot utility boat and an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to search overnight Thursday and again Friday before they called off the search.
"The search has been concentrated west of Belleair Beach," said Coast Guard Rescue Chief Steve Aykroyd.
