Volunteer organization helps kids, families at Christmas

Christian Social Services in Land O'Lakes and Lutz was able to provide gifts to 461 children during Christmas. The organization also provided holiday food baskets to 251 families. "We sincerely thank each of you who contributed toys, food, money or hard work," said Jacquie Petet, executive director. The agency is a volunteer-run organization that provides more than 1{ tons of food every month to people in need. For information, call (813) 949-5110.

Land O'Lakes men

enlist in Air Force

Travis L. Vaughan of Land O'Lakes recently enlisted into the U.S. Air Force, according to Sgt. Steve J. Acevedo, the local air force recruiter. After Vaughan completes the six-week basic training course at Lackland Air Force Base, near San Antonio, Texas, he will receive technical training in his designated career area. Vaughan graduated in 1995 from Land O'Lakes High School.

Robert A. Falls of Land O'Lakes recently enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. After Falls completes the six-week basic training course at Lackland Air Force Base, near San Antonio, Texas, he will receive technical training in his career area. Falls is a 1994 graduate of Shelton High School and will earn credits toward an associate degree in applied sciences through the community college of the Air Force while he attends basic and technical schools.

Brian E. Aronson and Michael R. Orr, both seniors at Land O'Lakes High School, recently enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. When they complete the Air Force's six-week basic training course at Lackland Air Force Base, near San Antonio, Texas, they will receive technical training in their designated career areas.
