Sugarmill Woods residents take over community sales

Bill and Jan Stocker recently purchased Sugarmill Woods Sales Inc. from Punta Gorda Inc., the original developer of Sugarmill Woods.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

Sugarmill Woods Inc., which is based in St. Louis, has sold the stock of Sugarmill Woods Sales Inc., to Jan Stocker, who has been president/broker of the corporation for eight years.

The office has been moved to 155 Douglas St., Suite B, Homosassa, within the community of Sugarmill Woods. The full-service real estate office specializes in Sugarmill Woods resale homes and resale lots, manages more than 100 rental units and assists in new home construction.

The Stockers are residents of Sugarmill Woods.

Jan Stocker is a past president of the Realtors Association of Citrus County, and Bill Stocker joins the staff after more than 30 years in the banking industry.

The office staff consists of four full-time real estate associates _ the Stockers, Betty Olson and Trina Winters _ as well as full-time property manager Paulette Meigs and office manager Barbara Whitney.

Parade winners

The Homosassa Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of its Christmas Boat Parade on the Homosassa River.

In the residential division, first place went to Jim Bolton Jr., second went to Jim Lewis and third place went to John Coffman.

In the business division, Midway Animal Hospital received first place, Homosassa Civic Club and Friends of the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park received second place, and the Homosassa River Retreat Resort took third place.
