U.S. Coast Guard officer was arrested and charged in a Palm Harbor rape case as he returned to port in Tampa on Tuesday.
Pinellas County sheriff's investigators say the sexual assault took place in April at a Palm Harbor apartment complex where such officers are sometimes housed.
Pinellas and Hillsborough detectives arrested Willie Wilson, a Coast Guard petty officer stationed on Davis Island in Tampa.
Wilson, 39, was charged with two counts of sexual battery and one count of battery during the commission of a burglary, said Pinellas sheriff's spokesman Cal Dennie.
Wilson's address is listed as Apt. 718 in the Cameron of Palm Harbor apartments at 2690 Coral Landing Blvd.
A sexual assault took place in the complex April 11. Detectives said they had the evidence to arrest Wilson after getting the results of lab tests Tuesday.
Wilson was being held Tuesday night in the Orient Road Jail in Tampa in lieu of $100,000 bail.
