A man robbed the Burger King at 14139 U.S. 19 in Hudson early Monday morning, forcing two female clerks into the cooler while stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the store safe, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.
The clerks were opening the store about 4:40 a.m. when the man approached and threatened them with what he said was a gun in a brown paper bag, the report said. The robber made one of the clerks open the safe and then forced both of them into a cooler at the rear of the store and, since it didn't lock, told them not to come out for 15 minutes, the report said.
The clerks came out after 20 minutes and called police, the report said. No injuries were reported.
