NAME: Joel Wilcox. AGE: 66.
HANDICAP: "Ohhh, bad 28."
FAVORITE COURSE: "Well, I play Timber Oaks pretty much. It's just a good course. It's a short course and well kept up."
FAVORITE HOLE: "I like the No. 18 at Timber Oaks. It's a par-4, about 180-190 yards. It's pretty much straight but it's narrow."
BRUSH WITH PERFECTION: "Never had a hole-in-one. I had an eagle and that was about the best. That was on a 200-yard par-4, but that was years ago."
FAVORITE PRO: "I don't have a favorite really, but I like Tiger Woods."
BEST PART OF GAME: "Short irons probably."
WORST PART: "My No. 1 driver. I'm erratic, let's put it that way."
ABOUT WILCOX: Wilcox is originally from Minnesota, and retired in 1997. At the time, he was an IRS computer systems analyst. Years before, he had worked for Eckerd in Clearwater on a contract basis and liked the area. Hence, when he retired, he and his wife of 43 years, Cecilia, decided on Hudson. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. Wilcox only golfs about once every month or so right now, but once the weather cools off he hopes to return to his normal three to four times a week.
