A man, woman and two children from the Tampa Bay area were killed early Friday when their semitrailer truck slammed into a tree and burned.

The truck ran off State Road 29 in Clinton County in west-central Indiana, hit a car that had just pulled into a driveway, then hit a utility pole and the tree and burst into flames, according to police reports.

Indiana State Police Trooper Robert Bluemke said the impact of the crash indicated the truck was traveling at a high speed. The cab was crushed, and flames seared gaping holes in the trailer.

Killed were the truck's driver, Stacy L. Weeks, 28, of Tampa; Kristi L. Wadsworth, 28, of Brandon; and two children, Spencer Weeks, 6, and Ashlyn Weeks, 2, of Seminole.

The driver of the car, Tisha Lambert of Frankfort, Ind., was not injured.
