Man found in pool dies in hospital

A man who was practicing holding his breath under water drowned Friday evening in a swimming pool.

Adedayo Adefeso, 33, was found about 7:15 p.m. in the deep end of the pool at The Gates of Tampa Bay Apartments, 2921 Americana Ave., where he lived.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Adefeso was taken to University Community Hospital, where he died a short time later.

No other information about him was available.

Man is charged

with sexual battery

ST. PETERSBURG _ A 37-year-old man was charged with sexual battery after police learned he was engaged in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl, reports say.

Benjamin F. Ross of 2722 Fifth St. S had been living with the girl for at least a week before Saturday's arrest at his home, according to a police report.

Ross was charged with sexual battery and was in Pinellas County Jail on Saturday in lieu of $100,000 bail.
