On Feb. 25, I called Leisure Activities and Tours to reserve two tickets and transportation to the Devil Rays game on April 11. We were to be picked up by a tour bus in Holiday. I received confirmation on March 1.
On April 6, I called to find out the approximate time we would be picked up. I was told that Leisure Activities and Tours would not be stopping in Holiday since there were only two of us and that we should meet the bus in Tampa. We are senior citizens and have trouble driving at night. If we could drive to Tampa we would never have arranged for a bus tour. The person to whom I spoke said the person who made the reservation had made a mistake because the bus was never scheduled to stop in Holiday. With this information, I asked for our money back, because the purpose was to get a ride there. By the time I found this out, it was too late to get tickets with another tour company.
I have made two more attempts to get my $98 refunded to no avail. Anne Morgan
Response: Thanks for your note letting us know that you got your refund.
Amaryllis bulbs found
On Jan. 21, my son and his wife in New Jersey ordered three amaryllis bulbs from Aarons Amaryllis and Canna Farm in Sumner, Ga. A check was enclosed for $28.56 with instructions to send the order to us in Florida. As you can guess, we still have not received the bulbs.
My daughter-in-law has written to Aarons and called numerous times with no response. She finally received her canceled check on March 3. I decided to enter into this inquiry at my end in Florida to see if I could get any response. I began calling April 19. After a few calls the company checked its records and found the bulbs had been returned to it on April 1. The ZIP code was wrong.
I asked Aarons to please resend the order and was told it would. I called on May 25 and again on June 10. I think we have been very patient in waiting for this order. If Aarons does not plan to honor it, I feel it should refund my son's check for $28.56. Dorothy Dalinsky
Response: We received an apology and explanation from Aarons in Sumner, Ga. The order was returned after being shipped to the wrong address due to the writing being almost illegible. The replacement bulbs cannot be mailed during the heat of the summer. You may expect them sometime in November when they are dormant and the weather has cooled off.
