D'BACKS 10, CUBS 7: Matt Williams hit a tiebreaking single to key a six-run eighth and visiting Arizona overcame Sammy Sosa's 43rd homer.
Sosa, who had been in a 1-for-22 skid, pulled within one of major-league leader Mark McGwire.
Williams also had a two-run single as the Diamondbacks improved to 15 games over .500 (64-49) for the first time. Arizona has won 15 of 19.
Arizona outfielder Tony Womack was a late scratch because of an infection in a cut in his right knee that spread up his leg. He was expected to stay overnight at a hospital.
MARLINS 5, GIANTS 4: Mike Lowell hit his first career grand slam and Dave Berg hit a run-scoring single in the ninth as host Florida rallied from a four-run deficit.
Lowell's slam tied it in the eighth, spoiling what would have been a triumphant return for Giants starter Livan Hernandez. The 1997 World Series MVP was traded to San Francisco 16 days ago for two minor-league pitchers.
