A 14-year-old Land O'Lakes boy told Pasco deputies that a teen brandishing a knife tried to steal his bicycle Sunday evening, the Sheriff's Office said.

The boy said he was riding his bike from his home to Pine View Middle School to see how long it would take, according to reports. On his way home, just before 8 p.m., the suspect stopped him and demanded his bike, reports stated.

When the suspect _ described as a 16-year-old male, about 5 feet 8 and 140 pounds, wearing jeans and a white tank top _ pulled out a folding knife, the boy put down his bike, the sheriff's office said.

The suspect bent over to pick up the bike and the victim punched him in the face, according to reports.

During a brief fight, the victim said, the suspect cut the victim's right arm, reports said. The victim, whose name is being withheld because of his age and because the suspect remains at large, was able to escape with his bike by striking the suspect on the head with a rock, according to reports.
