Clearwater's Eric Valent hit for the cycle, but the Tigers held the rest of the Phillies to four hits in an 8-3 win Tuesday night.
The Phillies rightfielder completed the cycle with a home run in the ninth and finished 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Clearwater first baseman Andy Dominique added a homer and two RBI.
Tigers starter Shane Loux pitched six shutout innings, giving up four hits and striking out six.
ST. LUCIE 7, ST. PETERSBURG 3: Ethan McEntire allowed three runs in seven innings for his sixth win for the visiting Mets. Designated hitter Garrick Haltiwanger was 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI. Rehabbing Devil Rays second baseman Miguel Cairo was 1-for-4 with a single.
CHARLOTTE 9, DUNEDIN 6: Craig Monroe stole home and hit a two-run homer for the host Rangers. Monroe, who went 2-for-4, singled in the sixth, stole second and advanced to third on an error before and pulling off the rare steal of home. Six players stole eight bases, including two each by Monroe and Dunedin's Tony Peters.
