CAREER HIGHLIGHT: In 1997, Emanuel played five games at free safety for Philadelphia before fracturing his leg. He was in the Cowboys camp in 1998. He spent this summer playing for the Rhein Fire. In college, he was a three-year starter with 279 tackles and five INTs.
GLORY DAYS: Emanuel grew up in Indiantown and started his career as an 8-year-old center wearing No. 60. At Stuart Southfork, he started four years and earned first-team all-state honors as a senior.
BRUSH WITH GREATNESS: As a freshman, Emanuel played varsity under former NFL coach Lou Saban.
TO MAKE THE TEAM: Emanuel is battling Eric Vance and Lemar Marshall for a backup spot behind John Lynch. Vance has a slight edge because he has been with the team since the '98 training camp. Emanuel has more game experience.
