St. Lucie starter Dicky Gonzalez (13-7) pitched a complete game and held St. Petersburg to five hits as the Mets beat the Rays 8-1 before 1,919 Friday night. Gonzalez allowed no walks and struck out six of the 29 batters he faced.
Ty Wiggington hit a three-run homer and Kenny Miller had three hits for St. Lucie. Jared Sandberg homered for St. Petersburg.
