A man and a woman died Friday when a single-engine plane registered to a law firm crashed into a home just after takeoff from North Perry Airport in Broward County.
The Piper PA28-140, registered to the Rubin & Rubin law firm in Fort Lauderdale, destroyed the home in the fiery 5:30 p.m. crash, officials and witnesses said.
All six family members in the house escaped without injury.
It could not immediately be confirmed that the plane belonged to Randall and Debra Rubin, partners in the law firm. "The airplane burned so bad we cannot read the number," said Jorge Prellezo, regional director of the National Transportation Safety Board.
