This year's Black History Pageant salutes African-Americans in the medical profession at 4 p.m. today at the Mahaffey Theater. The free show presented by Bethel Community Baptist Church will feature young people who will sing, dance and act in tribute to two St. Petersburg medical pioneers: Dr. Fred Alsup, the oldest black physician in St. Petersburg, and Marie Yopp, the first black registered nurse at the Pinellas County Health Department.
