OBITUARIES

ALDEN, GEORGE E. JR., 81, of Cloverleaf, Brooksville, died Friday (Jan. 28, 2000) at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in Milford, Conn., he came here 23 years ago from Hebron, Conn. He was retired after 27 years as an aircraft-quality engineer for Pratt and Whitney and a member of First United Methodist Church of Brooksville, former member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and Library Board, Hebron, past president of the Brooksville Lions Club and the Hernando County Audubon Society, member of the North American Family Campers Association and writer and illustrator for the Otter River State Park Trail Guide in Massachusetts. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jane; three sons, George III, Hebron, Jeff, Anchorage, Alaska, and Chris, Big Lake, Alaska; six daughters, Dale Lixcy, Felton, Mo., Linda Evans, Willimantic, Conn., Jill Rebillard, Wasilla, Alaska, Robin Alden, Belchertown, Mass., Mellisa Kelley, Aurora, Colo., and Susan Howard, Woodstock, Conn; a sister, Jeanette Curtin, Massachusetts; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. CARSON, ARTHUR K., 89, of Seminole, formerly of Dunnellon, died Friday (Jan. 28, 2000) at the Arbors of St. Petersburg, Seminole. Born in Ausable, Mich., he came here 22 years ago from Allen Park, Mich. He was a retired tool and die maker. Survivors include two sons, Arthur Jr., Southgate, Mich., and Fredric, Gulfport; three daughters, Lois O'Connell, Crystal River, Arlene Wahl, Seminole, and Kathleen Carson, Tryon, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
