A Spring Hill man was killed and his female friend was seriously injured Tuesday night when the two were struck by a car while crossing Deltona Boulevard. The elderly couple, whose names officials did not release Tuesday night, were on their way to a neighbor's house to play cards just after dark when the accident happened about 6:30 p.m. Witnesses said the driver the car appeared to be a teenage girl. Scott McCrary was driving northbound on Deltona when he saw a southbound two-door Dodge slam into the couple. "I don't know how she didn't see them," he said."They had a flashlight. It was a bright light, and I saw it." Authorities did not release the driver's name. Neighbor Clara Hitt, whom the couple was coming to visit, said the driver was upset. "The girl ran to our door just hysterical," Ms. Hitt said. "She said "Oh my God, I just hit somebody."' The woman was flown to BayFront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
