Norwegian accepts hostile bid

The board of Norwegian Cruise Line, which operates the Leeward, capitulated to a hostile takeover Thursday and recommended that shareholders accept a $1.1-billion joint bid from Miami-based Carnival Corp. and Star Cruise lines of Malaysia. Carnival will take a 40 percent interest in Arrasas Ltd., a Star subsidiary set up to take over NCL. Shareholders were to vote on a new board today.
