Kathy Bates, who co-stars in the upcoming comedy movie Unconditional Love, has just sold her Hollywood Hills home for close to its $859,000 asking price to actor-writer Jon Cryer.
The Oscar-winning Bates (best actress, Misery, 1990), who played Miss Hannigan in the ABC production of Annie (1999) and directed last year's A&E TV movie Dash & Lilly, co-stars with Dan Aykroyd in Unconditional Love, now shooting in Chicago.
She moved in the fall to a Hancock Park home that she purchased in the mid-$2-million range.
The Hollywood Hills home has three bedrooms in about 3,000 square feet. Built in 1930, the country English-style home also has a library, spa and gardens.
Cryer, 34, owns an apartment in New York.
Cryer, who co-starred in the Fox sitcom Getting Personal (1998-99), played Molly Ringwald's fanatical devotee in the classic 1980s teen movie Pretty in Pink, and he followed Matthew Broderick in the New York stage production of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs.
