Celtic tunes and tales

Fiona Davidson travels the world, reviving the ancient tradition of the bard for audiences. In myth and legend, the bard was depicted as a mysterious, multifaceted figure: a harper, a singer, a poet, a teller of tales and a druid. Davidson weaves all of these threads together again, taking her audiences back in time. While living in one of the most remote parts of the Scottish isle of Arran, Davidson immersed herself in the study of the Celtic tradition, giving her first public performance there in 1985. Within a year she appeared on television, and her reputation has grown steadily worldwide. She'll perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St. Tickets are $12. Call (727) 942-5605.
