Scott Cassidy pitched seven innings, gave up three hits and struck out seven. Orlando Woodards got his second save of the season. Matt Logan homered for the first time and Garrett Haltiwanger had two RBI.
ST. LUCIE 11, ST. PETERSBURG 3: The host Mets banged out 16 hits and Brian Cole went 3-for-5, including a double, a triple and two RBI.
Devil Rays starter Ed Kofler, a former Tarpon Springs High standout, lasted 2 innings and allowed eight earned runs and nine hits.
Jason Saenz pitched five innings to earn the win.
CHARLOTTE 7, CLEARWATER 3: Travis Hughes gave up one earned run on five hits in 5 innings for the visiting Rangers. Matt Halloran had a three-run double in the first for Charlotte. Clearwater's Jeremy Salazar was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Bobby Sismondo gave up three earned runs in five innings for the loss.
TAMPA 4, VERO BEACH 3: Brett Jodie gave up three runs and struck out six in eight innings for the visiting Yankees. Chris Wallace pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save. The Yankees' John Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Claude Greene went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Vero Beach pitcher Marcos Castillo gave up four runs and nine hits for the loss.
