PLAYER CAN USE WALKER: The U.S. Golf Association will allow a disabled Indiana golfer to use a walker during a qualifying round for the U.S. Open.

Ford Olinger, who unsuccessfully sued the organization for the right to ride a cart during qualifying, said it has given him permission to use a wheeled device called a Lunar Swedish Rollator to steady his gait and relieve pressure on his back as he walks the course Monday at the South Bend Country Club in South Bend.

CANADIAN TOUR: The Golf Channel will televise as many as six tour events that will be played in the United States. The tour will play at least four tournaments in America starting in 2001.
