Spring football

Riverview and King won spring football jamborees hosted by the Lions on Thursday. The Sharks defeated Wharton 8-3 while King beat Bloomingdale 7-0.

Chad Kaaa scored the Riverview touchdown on a 3-yard plunge. Charlie Ross followed with a 2-point conversion.

"We discovered we have a pretty good offense to work with next season," Riverview coach Alex Albert said.

Roger Beaubien kicked a 35-yard field goal for the Wildcats score.

King scored its touchdown on a 2-yard run by Oscar Folks. Jonathan Bernal made the extra point.

"I think we have the potential for a competitive team this season," Lions coach Joe Severino said. "A few mistakes kept us from scoring more, but we are young and will hopefully improve in the fall."
