Hurricanes coach quits

Palm Harbor University baseball coach Ken Clawson has resigned due to unspecified health reasons after leading the Hurricanes to the best season in their four-year history.

"I've got some things I need to take care of," said Clawson, 40, who coached the Hurricanes to a 14-16 record and the Class 4A region semifinal this season. "I need to re-prioritize and take care of me."

Clawson will remain on staff as a student education teacher and boys golf coach. He was 25-32 in two seasons.

For information about the position, call athletic director Bob Heintz at 669-1131, ext. 140.
