Meet Jeff Morrison

AGE: 21.

HT./WT.: 6-1; 160.

HOMETOWN: Huntington, W.Va.

NOTEWORTHY: Beat top-ranked James Blake 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-4 to win the 1999 NCAA singles title. 1999 honors included singles and doubles All-American and SEC Player of the Year. Set UF single-season record with 47 singles victories in 1998-99. Is third on UF's all-time singles win list with 111 victories, trailing senior teammate Justin O'Neal's 115 and 1994 NCAA champion Mark Merklein's 112. Ranked No. 1 in the nation in singles and No. 3 in doubles with partner Nathan Overholser in the rankings. Lost in the first round of the 1999 U.S. Open to Ivan Ljubicic and dropped a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 match to Cedric Pioline in the first round of the ATP event in Indianapolis last summer.
