Rays fall despite 2 HRs

Randey Dorame gave up two runs and struck out five in eight innings as the Dodgers beat St. Petersburg 4-2 Saturday.

The Devil Rays' Rodriguez Smith led off the game with a home run to leftfield, and designated hitter Pete LaForest led off the fourth with a home run to right-center.

DUNEDIN 3, LAKELAND 2: Gustavo Chacin (3-1) pitched seven scoreless innings for the host Blue Jays. Jarrod Kingrey gave up a run and two hits in the ninth but earned his 11th save.

KISSIMMEE 8, CLEARWATER 1: The Astros took advantage of poor pitching and five errors at Jack Russell Stadium. Josue Perez's single drove in Jeremy Salazar for Clearwater.

JUPITER 5, TAMPA 1: Starter Ron Chiavacci pitched six scoreless innings for host Hammerheads. Yankees DH Ryan Soules singled in Andy Phillips, who was 4-for-4, including two doubles, in the seventh.

REASON TO SMILE: White Sox pitcher James Baldwin shows his joy at moving to 7-0 with a complete-game victory over the Blue Jays.
