Dodgers overcome sloppy Rays

The Dodgers turned two St. Petersburg errors into five unearned runs to beat the Devil Rays 10-8 Sunday.

Rodriguez Smith went 3-for-5 for the Devil Rays, who stranded 11 baserunners.

Dodgers reliever Pedro Feliciano struck out five in 3 innings for the win. Maximo Regaldo pitched a scoreless ninth, getting two strikeouts and a groundout to earn his 12th save.

CLEARWATER 9, KISSIMMEE 5: Josue Perez and Bob Van Iten homered to lead the host Phillies. Clearwater turned four double plays to offset the Cobras' 15 hits. Carlos Silva held the Cobras to four runs (two unearned) in seven innings for the win. Jeremy Wedel got the save. Barry Wesson went 4-for-5 with two doubles for Kissimmee.

DUNEDIN 11, SARASOTA 7: Garrick Haltiwanger went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the host Blue Jays. Chris Baker (1-3) struck out two in 1 innings for the win. Orlando Woodards pitched three scoreless innings to get the save.

TAMPA 12, JUPITER 0: Brian Reith pitched a five-hit shutout and Juan Rivera had two homers and drove in seven as the visiting Yankees ended the Hammerheads' winning streak at three. Reith (5-1) struck out 10. Rivera had a sacrifice fly in the first, a two-run homer in the sixth and a grand slam in the seventh.
