A Collier County sheriff's sergeant and a woman are dead and a former lieutenant is in custody after an early morning shooting Sunday, police said.
Investigators arrested former Collier sheriff's Lt. Roy Kipp Jr., 43. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, sheriff's spokeswoman Tina Osceola said.
His wife, Sandra Kipp, 35, and Sgt. Jeffrey Klein, 35, a six-year veteran of the Collier Sheriff's Office, were found dead in North Naples at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
Kipp was arrested in Sarasota shortly after the shootings.
Kipp commanded the Immokalee substation before he left the department in 1998, after 17 years. He retired after a random drug test found him positive for marijuana.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement revoked Kipp's law enforcement certification last year because of medical reasons, Osceola said.
