Memorial scheduled for slain man

A memorial Mass for an advertising salesman who was killed in his home will be held Wednesday morning at a Catholic church in New Port Richey.

Lawrence V. Pollock, 51, was found dead in his Veteran's Village duplex by Pasco County Sheriff's deputies May 14. On Saturday, authorities charged Robbie Robinson, 21, with first-degree murder.

A memorial Mass for Pollock will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 5340 High St.

Group to discuss future of county

WESLEY CHAPEL _ The local planning think tank Publicats will sponsor a forum, The Crystal Ball: What is Pasco's Future? from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wesley Chapel High School, 30651 Wells Road.

The workshop will focus on environmentally friendly development and features the following speakers: county planning commissioners Joseph Rodzewicz and Peter Gottschalk; Swiftmud Environmental Section manager Craig Dye; land-use and environmental lawyer Timothy Hayes, and Pat Burke, environmental activist and county commission candidate.
