Rays storm back to snap skid

The St. Petersburg Devil Rays rallied with five runs in the eighth inning Monday to overcome the Dodgers 8-3 and snap a 12-game losing streak.

Nathan Ruhl pitched two perfect innings of relief for his first victory. Nestor Perez was 3-for-5 and Kelvin Ryan 2-for-3 with an RBI each for the Devil Rays.

Alex Williams allowed six runs on four hits in 1 innings of relief for the loss.

KISSIMMEE 12, CLEARWATER 0: Three pitchers combined on a six-hitter, and the visiting Cobras scored six runs in the fifth. Kissimmee's Greg Miller allowed five hits and struck out five in seven innings for the win. Barry Wesson homered and drove in two runs, and he and Jason Alfaro went 3-for-6.

DUNEDIN 10, SARASOTA 6: Ryan Freel homered twice and went 5-for-5 with five RBI to lead the host Blue Jays. Joe Casey allowed three runs, one earned, on four hits in seven innings for the win. Josh Hancock gave up seven runs in the second and allowed 10 runs, nine earned, on 10 hits in 2.
