Zephyrhills' 72-0 win over Hudson is not the worst loss in Pasco County history.
It's darn close, though.
That dubious honor still rests with the Bulldogs' "9-Mile Rivalry" opponent, Pasco, which lost to Haines City 83-6 on Nov. 9, 1973.
The Bulldogs' win is still the most points scored by a Pasco County team, eclipsing the old record of 68 points, set in a 68-28 Pasco win over Ridgewood in 1991.
It is also the most points scored by a Zephyrhills team in school history, beating the old record of 59 points scored against Citrus in a 59-7 win in 1951.
And it is still the worst loss in Hudson history, however, replacing a 67-0 loss to Hernando in 1991.
