NEW TAMPA JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB: The New Tampa Junior Woman's Club is sponsoring an informational meeting at 7 p.m. at Compton Park, 16101 Compton Park Drive. CROP 'TIL YOU DROP: Pet owners are invited to bring their pets for a charity grooming event at Pasco Veterinary Medical Center, 4575 Pet Lane in Lutz. "Crop 'til You Drop" will run from 2 to 4 p.m. and includes discounts on baths, dips and specialty grooming. The staff will be donating their time. Proceeds will go to the Joshua House, a home for abused and neglected children and teenage moms and their babies. Advance registration is appreciated. SHELTER AT TRAIL: The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. for the opening of a new shelter at the Town 'N Country Greenway Trail at the western terminus at Webb Road. The $4,444 project was constructed by the Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation Department with funds donated by the Town 'N Country Park Homeowners Civic Association. Community volunteers helped plant 48 crape myrtle trees and 16 oak trees along the trail in a beautification project in August.
