DAR Chapter to install new officers on Thursday

The Pithlochaskotee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will install new officers at a meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 5901 Indiana Ave., New Port Richey.

Helen Aker will serve as regent for the coming year. She will be assisted by Mary Wright, vice regent; Catherine Eckhardt, chaplain; Earld Jarvis, secretary; Ruth Esposito, treasurer; Jean Koenitzer, registrar; Lillian Kreps, historian and Phyllis Seaman, librarian.

Debbie Hagner, genealogist and president of the West Pasco Genealogy Society, will present the program, "Whom We Came From."

Those attending should bring a non-perishable food donation for the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Centennial Opera Group to show video

The Centennial Opera Group will show a video of Gaetano Donizetti"s "Lucrezia Borgia" at a meeting at 1 p.m. Friday at Centennial Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday.

The opera is set in 16th century Venice and Ferrara and premiered at La Scala in 1833.
