JMC Communities of St. Petersburg, developer of the Florencia, a condominium in the city's waterfront district, last month was honored with an Aurora Award for water-wise design and construction at the Southeast Building Conference in Atlanta. The conference included builders, developers and others involved in the construction industry from 11 states. The Florencia's drought-tolerant plants, minimum use of lawn grass, along with the plumbing and weather-controlled irrigation equipment contributed to the honor.
New personal chefs heat up competition
Within the past month, two new personal chef businesses have opened in south Pinellas County _ Maggie Sonia Willocks has started Food for Thaw't in the Tyrone area and Lorena Gaskill has launched the Healthy Gourmet in Pinellas Point. For approximately $150, personal chefs such as Willocks and Gaskill will buy and prepare one week's worth of dinners for two in your home.

CBB Architects names new division director
Jack L. Bowersox has been named director of the senior care division at CBB Architects in St. Petersburg. Bowersox specializes in designing retirement centers. Bowersox is also president of MAG-NET Healthcare Environments, a national alliance with architectural firms specializing in senior care facilities.
