A Hernando County grand jury has indicted a man accused of killing his roommate, charging him Monday with first-degree murder.

Authorities say Edward Morgan, 30, of 11350 Sunshine Grove Road got into an argument with 24-year-old Christopher Douglas Ancona about six years ago, pulled out a 12-gauge shotgun, shot Ancona in the chest and head, and then buried him in their back yard.

For years, no one knew about the body until investigators questioned Morgan's brother about an unrelated case and the brother told them about the shooting, reports said. Morgan remains in the Hernando County Jail without bail as he awaits trial.

sexual battery charges

SPRING HILL _ A teenager faces three counts of sexual battery after authorities say he fondled and assaulted a 5- and 9-year-old girl.

The boy, whose name was withheld by the Times because of his age, was arrested Monday after his parents reported to investigators that the boy admitted fondling the girls and having one perform sexual acts on him, a Hernando County sheriff's report said. The boy was taken to the Hernando County Jail and was transferred Tuesday to the juvenile detention center in Ocala.
