TV RATINGS

ABC crushed its competition last week with its largest summertime audience in four years, thanks to the Emmy Awards, the return of Monday Night Football and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

The network had the six most watched programs in prime time, Nielsen Media Research said Tuesday.

For the week, ABC had an average of 12.3-million viewers. CBS had 8.3-million, NBC had 7.8-million, Fox had 7-million, UPN had 3.8-million, the WB had 2.5-million and Pax TV had 1.5-million.

NBC's Nightly News won the evening news ratings with 9.2-million viewers. ABC's World News Tonight had 8.8-million, and the CBS Evening News had 7.4-million.
