Flossie is a 5-month-old Catahoula leopard hound mix with brown and black spots. She is gentle and playful. Flossie also has a playful brother, Tenny, also up for adoption. Inquiries about adopting Flossie, Tenny, or other dogs and cats can be made at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Hernando County, 9075 Grant St., Brooksville. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day. Adoption fees include rabies shot, worming and spay/neutering. The cost for dogs is $68; for cats, $58.
