DUKE: Freshman swingman Andre Sweet has been suspended indefinitely for academic reasons. Coach Mike Krzyzewski said Sweet will be allowed to practice with the team, but will not travel or participate in games until a mid-semester evaluation. The 6-foot-6, 203-pounder averaged 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds in seven games for the third-ranked Blue Devils.
ARKANSAS: Saturday's game with Grambling State has been postponed because of possible travel problems due to the weather, Arkansas athletic director Frank Broyles said.
WOODEN AWARD: Udonis Haslem, Florida's 6-foot-8 junior center, is among the 30 top candidates for the John R. Wooden Award, which honors the nation's player of the year, it was announced Thursday. Ballots will be sent to 1,000 sports writers and sportscasters on March 5 and are due back three weeks later.
TAMPA 75, AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL 50: Percy White led Tampa, ranked seventh in Division II, to its 10th straight victory. White shot 10-of-11 from the field and finished with 23 points. The Spartans forced 24 turnovers and outrebounded American International 37-31. AIC was led by Malik Moore with 21 points.
JACKSONVILLE 67, SAVANNAH STATE 52: Brandon Williams scored 19 points and Shawn Paitts added 17 as the visiting Dolphins handed the winless Tigers their 11th straight loss.
CENTRAL FLORIDA 78, MARIST 67: Paul Reed had his third double double of the season, scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds to lead the Golden Knights. Marist is 5-5.
