Officers to scour roads on New Year's Eve

(ran PW, PS editions)

The Sheriff's Office, along with several other local law enforcement agencies, will patrol the roads for drunken drivers from 7 p.m. on Sunday to 4 a.m. on Monday. The Florida Highway Patrol and New Port Richey, Port Richey, Zephyrhills and Dade City police departments will assist.

The so-called "Wolf Pack" initiative is an attempt to get impaired drivers off the roads. Speeders, reckless drivers and people who don't wear their seat belts or properly restrain their children in safety seats also will be targeted.

Man charged with committing lewd act

PORT RICHEY _ A 34-year-old man was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation after deputies said he was masturbating in his driveway.

Three girls, ages 15, 12 and 10, saw Keith E. Rubba, touching himself in his driveway at 10321 White Cedar St. in Port Richey at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, authorities say. When Rubba saw the girls, he ran inside his garage, a deputy said.

Rubba denied the incident.

He was released from the county jail in Land O'Lakes on Thursday on $2,500 bond.
